Nigerians believe the EFCC is waging war against the wrong crime.
(St Lucia News)
Few days ago, the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission (EFCC), posted on its website the arrest and prosecution of a
21-year-old student for defrauding an American woman of the sum of N20
million via the Internet in what is popularly called 'Yahoo-Yaoo'.
But
that move is not popular with many Nigerians who think that the
anti-graft agency has been expending its energy pursuing the wrong crime
while allowing top politicians and government functionaries get away
with momentous corruption and looting of Nigeria's money.
But
another school of thought believe that the body is right in pursuing
these Internet fraudsters as they have been denting the image of the
country over the years, making those with genuine business deals seen as
fraudulent.
Today, we ask: which do you Think is a lesser crime between corruption and Internet fraud
